## Frequently Asked Questions

NVIDIA Omniverse **is not** going away. The Omniverse Launcher has been deprecated to better align with developers and their expected development workflows.   
  
Omniverse is a platform of libraries that enable developers to build applications for 3D, robotics, and industrial digitalization workflows based on OpenUSD. Omniverse APIs and SDKs are available directly on [GitHub](https://github.com/NVIDIA-Omniverse) or the [NGC Catalog](https://catalog.ngc.nvidia.com/collections?filters=platform%7COmniverse%7Cpltfm_omniverse&amp;orderBy=weightPopularDESC&amp;query=&amp;page=&amp;pageSize=).

Yes, the Omniverse Launcher will continue to run without issue past October 1st 2025, however the Omniverse Launcher installers will no longer be downloadable, and the Exchange will no longer be accessible for installing applications. If Nucleus Workstation is installed it will continue to function, but reinstallation will not be possible as the Nucleus Workstation package will no longer be available.

You’ll uninstall Omniverse Launcher, install Omniverse Kit, and then update extensions from inside of Kit. Please reference [the uninstall guide](https://docs.omniverse.nvidia.com/launcher/latest/uninstalling_launcher.html).

Yes, this change applies to the Enterprise/IT Managed Launcher.

Nucleus Workstation (delivered within Launcher) was deprecated on October 1, 2025. However, customers are still welcome to migrate to the Enterprise Nucleus Server, which is available on the [NGC Catalog](https://catalog.ngc.nvidia.com/collections?filters=platform%7COmniverse%7Cpltfm_omniverse&amp;orderBy=weightPopularDESC&amp;query=&amp;page=&amp;pageSize=). The Enterprise Nucleus Server is free for testing and development purposes, but an Enterprise License is required for production use, which includes Enterprise support.

There is no direct migration, however the following guidance can help ensure your transition is successful:

- 

Using Nucleus Navigator, connect to your Nucleus Workstation and your Enterprise Nucleus Server.

- 

Once connected to both, use Nucleus Navigator to copy the data from your Nucleus Workstation to the Enterprise Nucleus Server.

- 

Now, create the required users on the Enterprise Nucleus Server or configure it to use a preferred Identity Provider (IDP).

- 

Grant permission to the files and folders as needed on the Enterprise Nucleus Server to reflect your policies and/or requirements.

No, USD Composer and USD Explorer are still available today and will remain so after October 1, 2025.
