In this blog, Aviad Almagor explores how Pixar Animation Studios, Adobe and NVIDIA are teaming up with Trimble to bring the Open Universal Scene Description (Open USD) initiative to worksites across the globe. Born at Pixar to handle the impossible complexity of films like Toy Story, this framework is now being applied to the job site to solve three specific headaches: • Managing massive, complex 3D scenes without the system crashing. • Letting multiple teams collaborate on the same model at the same time. • Moving data between different apps without losing the "source of truth."
