If you’re at a Series B company, you’ve probably already tried: • Enablement sessions • Documentation • Office hours • “Please log your data” reminders And yet… → Pipeline still looks unreliable. → Forecast reviews still turn into debates. → Reps still update Salesforce after the deal moves. That’s not a discipline issue. That’s friction. Before you add more training... ask yourself: • Does a rep need 10+ clicks to do a basic task? • Are they entering fields that no one actually uses? • Are they jumping between Salesforce, docs, proposal tools, and email just to move one deal forward? If the answer is yes... Salesforce feels like tax, not leverage. Annnnnd people avoid tax 😐 Here’s what most scaling tech teams miss: People don’t adopt tools. They adopt shortcuts. If logging data: • Slows them down • Interrupts momentum • Feels disconnected from closing deals They will delay it, batch it, or skip it entirely... no matter how good the training is. High-performing tech companies flip the equation. It’s like millennials explaining Instagram to their Parents Lately, I’ve been having a lot of conversations around using multi-agent AI frameworks in legacy modernization projects and honestly, it’s one of the most exciting (and underrated) use cases of Agentic AI. Because let’s face it....legacy systems are like that old government building in our city: everyone knows it needs renovation, nobody knows where the wiring goes, and if you touch one file (or COBOL program), ten others mysteriously stop working. Here’s where multi-agent AI framework comes in and helps us out: --> System Discovery Agents – They can crawl through old documentation, codebases, and tickets to map what actually exists (since nobody’s quite sure anymore). --> Dependency Mapping Agents – Automatically identify what talks to what, and who’ll break if you change that one function. --> Knowledge Reconstruction Agents – Convert tribal knowledge (or “Ravi from Accounts’ memory”) into structured documentation. --> Refactoring Agents – Suggest and even execute modular migration strategies - rewriting parts of COBOL, Java, or .NET into modern microservices. --> Testing & Validation Agents – Auto-generate test cases, compare old vs new outputs, and flag anomalies before they reach production. In most enterprises, developers spend around 3 hours each week dealing with: inconsistent API contracts unclear or custom authentication flows documentation that no longer matches the implementation duplicated services that nobody realised already existed That’s 20 workdays per developer, per year — before even considering partners, integrators or external ecosystems. If your CEO asks for deal updates in Slack, don’t expect reps to update Salesforce. You can throw all the tech, training, and sales ops resources you want at CRM adoption - but if leadership isn’t leading by example, none of it will stick. Here's the tl;dr: Reps don’t hate updating Salesforce because they’re lazy. They hate it because they know no one actually uses it. When leaders bypass the CRM - asking for updates in Slack, emails, or meetings - they send a clear message: “This system doesn’t matter. Your notes don’t matter. Just tell me directly.” And that’s how $100k+ Salesforce investments turn into glorified Rolodexes. So, how do you fix it? 1. Top-down adoption Start with the CEO. If they want deal updates, they need to ask for them in Salesforce. Chatter, Slack integrations, whatever it takes...but it has to flow through the system. 2. Make sales managers accountable Reps won’t change unless their managers enforce it. Run pipeline reviews directly from Salesforce dashboards. No exceptions.
